Description of the project: The project is being developed on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria and is aimed at the agricultural community, helping to remove emissions of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and helping its storage in the soil in the form of carbon (C), improving soil health and biodiversity, environmental and climate protection.

Project details: Eligible areas 47,27 ha, minimum and maximum requirements for the allocation of plots and cells, eligible participants - registered farmers; groups of farmers.

The agricultural holdings of ZP NASTIA STOYANOVA YOTINA are located in the Southwestern Planning Region of Bulgaria in the lands of the villages of Benkovski, Mirkovo and Smolsko.

The farm grows annual and perennial crops. Prior to the farm's inclusion in the CARBONSAFE Carbon Farming Program, none of the CARBONSAFE Program recommended practices for annual and perennial crops were applied.

Buffer Pool Allocation: 5% of Issued Project Credits

For the purposes of the project's permanence, the Methodology provides for the retention of a 5% buffer, which is non-tradable.

The buffer serves to offset any decrease in SOC levels in regions where certificates have been granted previously. At the end of the crediting period, SOC levels may have risen, remained constant, or declined, as determined by evaluating the overall balance at the project participant level. Any reduction in SOC levels observed after the project's conclusion was categorized as a leakage.

EARTHOOD assessed that the buffer is reserved for all the positive cells eligible for carbon certificates for the current monitoring period, and the same can be confirmed by the PR0205- Recapitulation of checklist for Joint Validation & Verification Report calculating Sequestered Carbon (SOC) in Soil from Removed Greenhouse Gas Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Emissions.
